Lecture Urban Development
Lecture Series
The Urban Development lecture teaches basic knowledge about urban planning. Using key theories, models, and examples, it outlines the framework conditions, influencing factors, and results of various historical and contemporary urban development processes. Reference is always made to urban planning practices in an international context and in the city of Vienna in particular.
After completing the lecture, students will be able to understand cities in terms of their specific characteristics, complexities, and dynamics, address current and future challenges in urban planning with sound knowledge, and contextualize their own urban design practice within the framework of their bachelor's degree program.
