Design Studio Urban Design Competition: Re-thinking outskirts
Implementing the 15min City in periurban Vienna and Bratislava
The student competition Re-thinking outskirts: Implementing the 15-minute city in peri-urban Vienna and Bratislava generates design proposals on how the 15-minute city can be established in city outskirts. The first round of the competition will take place in Vienna, with a second round to follow in Bratislava. The most accomplished projects will be recognised with prizes by a distinguished panel of judges comprised of national and international experts.
How can our existing city outskirts — characterised by industrial zones, car dominance, single-family homes, large housing estates, etc. — be transformed into active urban neighbourhoods?
