Principles of Design – Urban Design
Dichter: Grüner* Offener_
An overview of the historical development of urban planning and the fundamentals of open space planning provides an introduction to the background and objectives of urban planning. In the urban context of Vienna, fields of action are identified and corresponding solutions are developed conceptually and methodically in the design.
The work process follows the premises of the further development of existing urban potentials and the creation of new qualities under sustainable framework conditions. Structural and programmatic densification (denser), climate adaptation and open space design (greener) as well as socio-cultural inclusion and diversity (more open) are the core themes.
The accompanying lecture has the character of a lecture series and is interlinked with the design process in the exercise.
