Modul Building and planning culture – understanding through model communities
Special module through course bundles
The module “Building and Planning Culture - understanding through model communities” focuses on building and planning processes in rural and alpine communities, particularly in relation to existing buildings. The focus is on real planning processes, building developments, and projects, as well as the underlying logic, actors, and political framework conditions. The aim is to develop a deeper understanding of building culture processes and their interactions between practice, politics, and planning.
The module is integrated into the parallel jury process of the 5th Landluft Baukulturgemeindepreis (5th Landluft Building Culture Community Award), and we participate in the jury hearing, for example. Processes are analyzed, classified, and presented using concrete practical examples. Local actors are also involved in the courses in order to highlight decision-making processes, negotiation processes, and scope for action.
The module is interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary in nature and open to architecture and planning students.
