Design Studio Dörfl

In Dörfl, a district in Kirchberg am Wagram, where the railway station is within walking distance and trains to Vienna run every hour, there is a high level of (sub)settlement pressure. The task of the "Dörfl" design project deals holistically with the settlement structure and its development potential. The aim is to develop scenarios of possible future typologies and to show how a responsible approach to land utilisation could look in the context of rural living away from the classic detached house. Away from the purely individual needs of individuals towards synergies and conditions of the community with the social requirements of the 21st century. Themes of type, cubature, interweaving with the landscape, utilisation and infrastructure, materiality, privacy versus publicity etc. will occupy us in two compact weeks in this context.
