Design Studio Istanbul

In the ‘Istanbul’ design project, site-specific issues along the Bosphorus are explored, using a central planning area in Istanbul as a case study. Through in-depth analyses of the historical layers and urban contexts, and based on a jointly developed framework, concrete scenarios and the resulting urban design proposals are developed at various scales.

The design project takes place in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul, beginning with a joint workshop.

The ‘Orient Express’ excursion (LVA 260.A26) is an integral part of the design process! 

The design module for Master’s students is planned to be delivered in a hybrid format. Supervision sessions will predominantly take place in person. International co-supervision and collaboration with colleagues from the partner university will take place online following the workshop.
