Design Studio Retrofit Municipal Building

The task of the Design Studio Retrofit Municipal Building Quarter 3 includes the development of spatial “retrofitting” strategies for the architectural, ecological and social transformation of an ensemble of 5 post-war municipal buildings in Vienna-Landstraße. Retrofit processes are intended to improve the quality of life and well-being of the residents of the municipal buildings in the sense of a “high-quality further development of the existing city”. This is also linked to integrative measures to increase climate resilience and circularity, social cohesion and the local economy as well as biodiversity.

This course can be taken together with the lecture exercise 260.890 Architectural Documentation and Presentation Knowledge Transfer, as well as independently of it.
