Design Studio Along the sea

The design project Along the Sea deals with territorial urbanisation, large-scale infrastructures and their site-specific issues along Adriatic coastal landscapes - using the example of Split and Durrës.

By means of in-depth analyses, we search for historical layers and connections between the core and the hinterland. Following a jointly developed matrix in the form of a cartographic representation of situations and patterns, concrete scenarios and urban planning designs will be developed at various scales.

After Pristina, Sarajevo and Skopje in the last semesters, this time we are travelling to Split and Tirana/Durrës. Both design programmes will be accompanied by international workshops with partner universities. The results will be presented to the public in the form of a jointly produced publication and travelling exhibition in all five cities in winter 2024/25.
