Modul Territorial Transformation
All about 0 – Vacancies, pioneers, and players in the urban network
The relationships between urban spaces and their stakeholders are profound, complex, and invisible. This becomes particularly clear when the question of how to reuse vacant properties arises. In phase 0, i.e., the informal assessment and brainstormingat the beginning of a transformation process, the differing interests of city administrations and property owners often come to light.
It becomes even more complex when we view urban spaces as co-produced structures of people, things, norms, and concepts, i.e., when we assume a distributed, relational conception of agency. From this perspective, over time, a network ofrelationships develops around each building that extends far beyond its use.
How can we identify, visualize, and interrogate such networks of actors? And what can we learn from this for a post-anthropocentric planning approach?
