Susanne Tobisch studied architecture at the TU Wien. She gained several years of practical experience in architectural offices in Vienna and Upper Austria and returned to the TU Wien for her doctorate. In the course of her dissertation, she is researching the topics of public space with a focus on urban streetscapes, linear settlement structures, 15-minute cities and walkability. She regularly presents the results of her research at international conferences.
Since 2023 she has been a project assistant at the TU Wien in the Research Unit of Urban Design. She is currently working on the international research project EMC2 (The Evolutive Meshed Compact City: A pragmatic transition pathway to the 15-minute City for European metropolitan peripheries) and the research project SSSEIC (StreetScapes for a Social-Ecological Inclusive City).
In addition to her university work, she has been a board member of IG Architektur since 2020.
