Design Studio Landuni Schloss – Taverne

The castle tavern in Drosendorf is the site of a future transformation. Currently vacant, the tavern is to be reactivated in the long term as a newly programmed venue with a new atmosphere. The basic idea behind the design is not to overwrite what already exists, but to develop new visions through targeted, simple interventions. The starting point is a careful analysis of the potential of the existing structure. Existing interiors, finds from the castle surroundings, and the materiality and atmosphere on site serve as raw material for experimental conversion prototypes, temporary installations, and new concepts for an atmospheric interior and exterior space for the tavern. The week-long workshop in the castle offers the opportunity for a “retreat” from everyday activities and a focus on analog idea development.
