Plan archive Rudolf Wurzer
The plan archive at the Institute of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture, Research Unit of Urban Design, which goes back to him and his predecessors, is closely related to the Rudolf Wurzer Library. The archive covers the subjects of urban planning, urban history and spatial planning, and currently combines antiquarian and contemporary historical planning material not only with a special focus on Austria, but also on the whole of Europe. This independent collection comprises a total of around 6000 different national and international maps, plans, town plans, aerial photographs, zoning and development plans. In terms of its function, the archive served on the one hand as documentation of the department's research activities and on the other as an analogue teaching aid. The archive thus documents Rudolf Rozer's life's work as a planner and university lecturer.
As part of a retro-cataloguing process that has not yet been completed, the library of the Technische Universität Wien has been won as a partner with the aim of recording the holdings of this unique archive via the online catalogue and making them accessible again.
