The city and the water
The impact of climatic events in Rio Grande do Sol and the challenges facing the reconstruction and urban planning
The lecture presents the work of Semeia EMAU, from the University of the Taquari Valley (Univates), in response to the recurring floods in the Taquari Valley, which have prompted urgent reflections on reconstruction and dignified housing. The office operates in an integrated way across teaching, research, and community outreach, with actions documented in the books “The City and the Water”, in the revision of master plans, and in geotechnical studies for family relocation, in addition to international partnerships in research and projects, such as with TU Wien.
Lecturer Jamile Weizenmann is porfessor at the University of Vale do Taquari - Univates since 2010. Her work focuses on teaching in social architecture and urbanism studios, and housing dignity.
